Ultrasound

I get the privilege of going into the doctor weekly. If you would call that a privilege. I don't mind though. It doesn't make it any longer of a process for me, if anything it helps reassure me. :)

I've been lucky this time around to get a few extra ultrasounds. Today was one of those days. Again she is measuring right where she needs to be if not a little ahead. Her head is measuring 33 weeks 1 day. That's 1 1/2 weeks further along than I am. Which means I'll have another big headed baby. That was a fun delivery! ;)

We actually got to see her profile this time. She wasn't hiding her face. Looks like she'll have a cute nose and quite the full lips just like her brother. We tried getting a good 4D picture of her face, but she's quite snug in there and the doc says she's really low. No wonder why it's so uncomfortable to be in a sitting position. We did get a picture of her yawning. That was absolutely adorable!

I hope you can see from this picture. Her mouth is labeled and right above her lips you can see her nose.

As for the rest of the ultrasound it was funny because she was so active, so when he would make a picture still to get the measurements and then go back she'd already be in another position. So that was fun to watch her move around. :)

I cannot wait to hold this bundle of joy in my arms! It is such a miracle that women can create life. And now seeing different stages of growth just makes me so amazed! I feel so blessed! :)

The Wheels on the Bus

Sam's favorite song is, "The Wheels on the Bus" which he wants to sing over and over again. His recent development is singing to himself. I still have yet to get it on video because of course the moment the recorder comes out, the moment he stops. But he'll sing and put his random words in, but will say, "round and round, sh!, wah!, beep, back, swish, up." Of course that translates to the wheels going round and round, mommies go sh sh sh, babies go wah wah wah, horn goes beep beep beep, driver says move on back, wipers go swish swish swish, and people go up and down.

Last night when I put him down for bed time he normally goes straight to sleep, but this time he sang this song a couple of times to himself before finally going to sleep. It was hilarious! He's always got me laughing.

By far my favorite part of this song that we added is what the grandpas do on the bus. We decided that they fall asleep. And Sam will close his eyes and roll his head like he's really on a bus and it's a bumpy ride. I can't help but smile every time he gets to that part.

Nap? What's that mom?

Nap time rolls around and he knows the routine. We have lunch, clean up, grab his animals then get into bed. I tuck him in and he smiles and as I'm walking out he cries and will walk over to the door and open it. Luckily I'm smart and have put a gate up so he can't get out. He'll usually keep the door open for a minute or less. Then he'll close it and on those lucky days he'll get back in bed, pull the covers up and go to sleep. But mind you this is once in a blue moon I tell ya.

His new joy of nap time is also my nightmare. He will pull absolutely everything out of his drawers. Clothes, diapers, socks, hats, you name it. Everything!! Refolding everything and putting it all back is not my idea of fun or joy! Luckily this has only happened twice now all because I wanted to get some rest. I had gone into my bedroom and can't really hear him opening things. I can hear him laughing and crying, but that's about it. But now I know if he gives his mischievous grin then I know there will be no luck with nap time. I usually wait to go into my room if I want to take a nap and will sit on the couch and just listen. The moment I hear the drawer open I know it's all over and nap time has now become play time with the clothes.

He actually has quite fun with his clothes. With his shirts he'll just keep putting them on. Funny part is he only puts them over his head. So it's like he's got a bunch of scarves around his neck. I always wonder how he's able to breathe, but he thinks it's the coolest thing. I must say though, he makes it easy on me. He puts everything in one big pile. So it's not like I have to gather everything from all around his room. And he'll even help me put things away. He'll hand me an item, I fold and either one of us will put it in the drawer. It's quite the system.

All I know is Sam is quite defiant in what he wants. If he doesn't want to nap then he's not going to nap. Ah well I guess. At least it's still a hit and miss and not completely out of the question. :)
